Kalinga State University Strengthens National Research Engagement through Co-Hosting of the 11th National Social Science Congress

Kalinga State University participated in the 4th Loretta Makasiar Sicat Prize for the Social Sciences awarding ceremony and the accompanying scientific lecture titled "Filipino Reception and Appropriation of Modern Astronomical Knowledge, 1859–1958," delivered by Mr. Emmanuel Jason V. Bolata of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), on April 11, 2025, at the Pilar Herrera Hall, CSSP, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City.

DICT Boosts Internet Connectivity for KSU-Dagupan Students

KSU-DAGUPAN CAMPUS - The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has activated a Starlink Satellite unit at KSU-Dagupan, operational as of April 11, 2025. This breakthrough delivers reliable, free internet access to all 1,615 registered students—and extends connectivity to nearby establishments within a 200-meter radius. DICT Kalinga Provincial Officer Ms. Mona Lisa Vizcarra spearheaded coordination efforts in March 2025, conducting an on-site visit to fast-track the satellite’s deployment.

KSU YOOKAH Project Strengthens Collaboration with PCC for Genetic Research on Native Pigs

The KSU YOOKAH research project received a significant boost as a team from the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, visited the university today, March 5, 2025. The PCC team conducted a meeting with the YOOKAH project proponents, led by Project Leader Ms. Sharmaine Codiam, to discuss collaborative efforts in advancing research on the genetic traits of native pigs.

KSU-College of Education Conducts Benchmarking on Teacher Education Program at PNU-NL

Kalinga State University conducted a benchmarking visit to Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNU-NL), Alicia, Isabela on March 7, 2025, to enhance its Teacher Education Program and institutional best practices.

Dr. Agnes S. Reyes, Executive Director and Provost of PNU-NL, expressed her warm welcome to the KSU delegation and emphasized the importance of collaboration in strengthening teacher education program. She also highlighted that this initiative fosters knowledge-sharing to improve academic and research capabilities.

Empowering Researchers: KSU Hosts Proposal Power-Up Workshop for Grant Writing Excellence

o support faculty, researchers, and extension workers in enhancing their grant proposal writing skills, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through its four sectoral councils—the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD), the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), and the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP)— have opened calls for research proposals with varying deadlines.

KSU Strengthens Ties with the Office of the President for Regional Development

March 28, 2025– Kalinga State University welcomed Presidential Assistance for CAR, Engr. Antonio R. Tabora represented by his Special Assistant Socrates Abella Jr. from the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Cordillera Administrative Region under the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, for a significant courtesy visit. The meeting, held at the KSU President's Office, focused on exploring avenues for presidential support and collaboration to enhance the university's development and contribute to the region's progress.

AWAYYU PANGAT: Media Literacy Seminar Empowers Student Leaders

March 28, 2025.The AWAYYU PANGAT: Media Literacy Seminar brought together student leaders to tackle key issues in media literacy, ethical journalism, and responsible information-sharing. The event aimed to equip participants with the skills to identify fake news, understand financial and health-related misinformation, and navigate the legal aspects of media use.

KSU Lab High Hosts 1st Inter-Club Unity Fest and Talent Unlimited Showcase

With the theme, "Dream, Believe, succeed", Kalinga State University - Laboratory High School hosted the 1st Inter-Club Unity Fest and Talent Unlimited Showcase on March 28-29, 2025, at KSU Gymnasium.

The event includes camp lay-outing, lectures on mental health, first aid, and fire safety. Team building exercises, tent pitching, and talent showdown were also highlighted on the first day. Morning devotion, Zumba sessions, and a fire safety drill were the main activities the next day.

KSU and DAR Kalinga Partner to Strengthen Financial Literacy for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries

March 31, 2025. Kalinga State University and the Department of Agrarian Reform - Kalinga (DAR Kalinga) have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to enhance financial literacy, bookkeeping, and business management skills among Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in Kalinga from March 2025 to December 2030.

KSU Records and Archives Section Benchmarks Records Management Practices at Isabela State University and Cagayan State University

To gain insights into the current records management practices and systems, the Kalinga State University records and archives section conducted benchmarking at Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela and Cagayan State University, Andrews Campus on April 4, 2025.
