Guardianship for Responsible Environmental Education Network seminar commenced today which is scheduled April 3-5, 2024, at KSU- RnD Hall, Bulanao Campus. The participants of said seminar are the Student Leaders, Non-Teaching, Utility workers, All Deans, Program Chairs and University Officials accordingly. Today is scheduled for the student leaders.
With the goal of efficient information dissemination and environmental protection, the seminar aims on the following: to formally integrate sustainability principles into all university operations including administration, academics, facilities management, and student life by end-2024, to develop sustainability literacy among the wider campus community by training all students and staff in relevant environmental policies and best practices every academic year, boost students and staff participation in campus sustainability initiatives to over 60% by end-2025, and continuously maintain over 90% compliance with the University Environmental Management Code among all students and staff.
Mrs. Evelyn Likigan from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office was the first speaker who discussed about Pollution Control and Waste Management, the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999 (RA No. 8749), the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 (RA No. 9003) and the Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990.
