KSU Culminates Women’s Month, Commences Guidance Week

Earlier today, April 1, 2024, Monday at 8:00 AM right after the consecutive conduct of Flag raising ceremony by both Teaching and Non-teaching personnel of the University, an Ecumenical Mass for mental wellness, gender equality, empowerment and social inclusivity took place in front of the Counseling, Testing and Placement Center (CTPC).

In her homily, Reverend Roceni S. Bakian of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines emphasized on the significant contributions of women within the community, advocating for their equitable recognition and utmost reverence.

KSU President, Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang recognized and appreciated the GAD office under the directorship of Ms. Irene Daguasi for the successful conduct of the series of activities for the whole month of March.

Said mass was participated by students, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and the University Officials. This serves as the preliminaries for the university’s simultaneous celebration of the National Women’s Month culminating activity and Guidance Week celebration with the theme, Empowering Future: "Navigating Paths Inspiring Growth.”

Culminating Activities for the National Women’s Month are the Serbisyo Para Kay Juana (blood testing, medical and gynecological check-ups, doughnut making, counseling services) and Zumbayolet at 4PM with the wearing of purple-shaded shirt.

Activities to expect for the guidance week celebration are as follows: Expression of emotions thru "Paint your Emotion", Mental Health Seminar, Seminar for PWDs, Solo and Single parents, and Employment Coaching for Graduating Students (2 batches).

These activities were set forth and be facilitated by the CTPC Staff and peer facilitators, Guidance Coordinators, Gender and Development (GAD) staff, and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) personnel.
