President Marcos Jr. Champions Equitable Access to Higher Education at NHEDS 2024

The celebration of the 30th Founding Anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the National Higher Education Day Summit (NHEDS) 2024, was held today, May 15, 2024, at the Philippine Normal University.

Addressing a gathering of esteemed leaders from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the nation, His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. delivered a resounding message advocating for equitable access to higher education.

President Bagtang Attends Quality Assurance Conclave for Higher Education Leaders

The Commission on Higher Education hosted a Quality Assurance Conclave for Higher Education Leaders today, May 13, 2024, at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

The gathering brought together respected figures from the academe to delve into critical topics shaping the landscape of tertiary education quality and future trends.

The conclave commenced with ATTY. CINDERELLA FILIPINA S. BENITEZ-JARO, the Executive Director of CHED, who highlighted the evolving role of quality assurance in Philippine higher education.

UPLB and KSU Forge Academic Partnership with MOU Signing

In a significant move towards fostering academic collaboration and mutual understanding, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and the Kalinga State University (KSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 7, 2024. The ceremonial signing took place at 2pm in the Executive Conference Room at the Office of the Chancellor, UPLB, with Chancellor Jose V. Camacho Jr. representing UPLB and President Eduardo T. Bagtang representing KSU.

KSU Director Attends CHED-UTP Collaboration Workshop in Malaysia

Dr. Pinky Larcelle Gas-ib, the Director for Distance Education, Transnational Education, and International Linkages, is currently participating in the CHED and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Collaboration Workshop held at UTP in Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia.

This workshop is aimed at fostering a strategic partnership between UTP, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the Philippines, and Philippine higher education institutions (PHEIs) in the areas of research, innovation, and engineering, with a focus on petroleum and energy.

Kalinga State University Achieves 4th Runner-Up Honors at CARASUC Athletic Meet 2024

During the culminating ceremony of the CARASUC Meet 2024 hosted at Apayao State College on April 29-May 3, 2024, Kalinga State University (KSU) emerged as the 4th Runner-Up in the overall standings. Ms. Josefa May S. Buslig, Director for Sports, proudly accepted the award on behalf of KSU, acknowledging the university's outstanding performance.

It isa ceremonial signing of MOA on the Excellerate review and strategy program to empower students for LEA (Licensure Examination for Agriculturists) 

This program was conceptualized in response to  CHED's mission of providing  access to quality and inclusive Higher Education and UPLB vision of future proofing its instruction research and public service programs in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable development.

Kalinga State University joins CARSUCs in the grand parade and opening program of the 2024 CARASUC Athletic Meet held at the Apayao Exo-Tourism and Sports Complex, Luan, Apayao.

In his message, Keynote Speaker Sen. Christopher Laurence "Bong" Go emphasized his advocacy in the field of sports. "Ang bisyo ko po ay magserbisyo sa ating mga kababayan." He added.

He also extended his gratitude to the CARASUC Athletic Meet 2024 Committee chaired by Dr.Eva Marie Dugyon, all SUC presidents and officials and the PLGU of Luna, Apayao.

CARASUC Athletic Meet 2024 is scheduled,April 29 to May 3,2024 with the theme,, "Bidlisiw: Paghilom, Pagbangon at Pagsulong."

Municipal Local Government of Flora Welcomes KSU delegation to the 2024 CARASUC Athletic Meet

Headed by the Municipal Mayor of Flora, Apayao, Hon. Rodolfo B. Juan, the officialdom of said municipality warmly welcomed the KSU delegation to the 2024 CARASUC Athletic Meet, yesterday at the Dr. Efren U. De San Jose Memorial Sports Center.

Mayor Juan who was a former Barangay Captain of Bulanao way back 1989 to 1992,expressed his gratitude to the Kalinga Delegations. "Iyebkas ko t nabara nga ayat mi nga mangsarabo kadakayo amin, we want you to feel the immense love we have for all of you", he added.

Distribution of Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Beneficiaries

The Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) is a one-time financial assistance program provided by CHED Chairperson, J. Prospero E. De Vera III to the Fifty (50) deserving selected students in the University. The beneficiaries received Twenty-Five Thousand Pesos (25, 000).

Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang, University President in his opening message gave a brief overview of the assistance, how it was given to the university, and extended his profound gratitude to CHED Chairperson De Vera for providing Fifty (50) slots to the students in the University.
