December 2, 2024. As part of its commitment to holistic education and inclusivity, the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) conducted an employment coaching and recollection sessions for the graduating students of AY 2024–2025 under its CEIT PERSpective initiative. Said activity aimed at equipping students with essential skills and fostering self-reflection as they prepare for their professional journey.
The university's Guidance Counselor, Ms. Lovelia R. Iringan, discussed on employment coaching, providing students with valuable insights into the stages of employability, workplace norms, and professional ethics. Her talk served as a crucial guide for the students, offering practical advice to navigate the transition from academic life to the workforce. Complementing this, Ms. Irene M. Daguasi, KSU’s Gender and Development Director, led an interactive recollection session where students reflected on their thoughts and emotions through meaningful objects. This exercise encouraged introspection and allowed students to connect with their personal growth and aspirations.
Closing the event, Mr. Mathew Jun P. Mariani, a member of the GAD Technical Working Group, gave an inspiring message that highlighted the importance of perseverance and curiosity in pursuing their careers. He urged students to embrace challenges and assured them that their hard work and the skills they have gained will pave the way for their success.
This CEIT PERSpective initiative underscores the college’s dedication to creating an inclusive and dynamic learning environment. With the usual support from faculty and staff, the program not only prioritized the well-being and growth of students but also exemplified the college’s efforts to empower its community. Previous CEIT PERSpective activities included Gender and Development awareness programs for technical and non-technical faculty, further demonstrating the initiative’s holistic approach to education. Through endeavors like this, CEIT continues to inspire its students to become well-rounded professionals ready to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving world
