Kalinga State University (KSU) has been awarded the highly coveted Certificate of Accreditation by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). The university has successfully met all the requisite criteria outlined in the guidelines for accreditation, demonstrating its commitment to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the nation.

Under the office of the NCCA Executive Director, Oscar G. Casaysay, the certificate was officially presented to KSU on June 14, 2023 at the NCCA headquarters, Intramuros, Manila. The diligent efforts of Dr. Jessie Grace Sannadan, Dr. Marilou Adora, Dr. Sheila Mae Carol Buslig, Dr. Pinky Larcelle Gas-ib, and Dr. James Guidangen were instrumental in securing this prestigious accreditation.

The Certificate of Accreditation holds significant importance, as it serves as proof of KSU's eligibility as an NCCA proponent in accordance with NCCA Board Resolution no. 2017-265. Valid for one year from the date of issuance, this recognition enables KSU to utilize the certificate as a prerequisite for the submission of project proposals to seek NCCA grants. Moreover, it positions the university as a prominent advocate for culture, further enhancing its reputation and brand in the field.

KSU's accreditation by the NCCA signifies its steadfast commitment to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage in the region. This recognition not only acknowledges the exceptional efforts made by the university but also emphasizes its dedication to fostering a vibrant cultural environment within the campus and beyond.

With the newfound accreditation, KSU aims to spearhead innovative cultural initiatives, ranging from research and documentation to artistic performances and community engagements. The university's extensive expertise, combined with its accreditation, paves the way for enhanced collaborations with other cultural institutions and organizations, creating a platform for cross-cultural exchange and growth.

President Eduardo T. Bagtang, along with the faculty and staff, expressed their gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon them. They affirmed their commitment to upholding the values of cultural preservation and advocacy, ascending the certificate to develop impactful projects that enrich the cultural landscape of the region.

As KSU continues to level up, their accreditation by the NCCA serves as a catalyst for their untiring dedication to the preservation, promotion, and celebration of cultural heritage. This recognition propels the university to greater heights, cementing its position as a driving force behind cultural preservation efforts in the Philippines and solidifying its reputation as a leading advocate of culture.
