Kalinga State University, in collaboration with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and Tabuk City’s IMPR Office under the leadership of Benigno Duyan, is implementing a groundbreaking solar-powered water pump project which was launched on September 3, 2024. With a budget of PHP 10 million, this initiative is set to provide sustainable irrigation to KSU's farms, significantly improving agricultural productivity and ensuring a reliable water supply to the campus. The project emphasizes renewable energy use, aligning with KSU's commitment to eco-friendly and resource-efficient campus improvements.
In a parallel effort to enhance campus safety, accessibility, and tourism, the KSU Cultural Heritage Center, along with the College of Entrepreneurship, Tourism, and Hospitality Management, has developed the "Preserving the Past, Lighting the Future" project. This solar-powered campus lighting initiative, supported by the Office of the City Mayor of Tabuk City by providing PHP 3,000,000.00 aims to illuminate the university grounds, creating a safer environment while highlighting its cultural heritage assets.
Through this initiative, KSU continues to advance projects that foster sustainable development and community engagement, supporting local cultural preservation while encouraging tourism. Both projects, focusing on solar-powered solutions, reflect KSU’s strategic commitment to leveraging green technology for institutional growth and societal benefit.
