Envisioning Tomorrow: KSU Officials and Unit Heads Converge for Strategic Planning Embracing 'Integrating Futures and Foresight'

With the theme, ‘Integrating Futures and Foresight”, this year’s university strategic planning was held at Dinadiawan Agri Beach, Dinadiawan, Aurora on November 16-17, 2023.

The theme reflects a forward-thinking and proactive approach to the development of the institution's strategic plans. It underscores the importance of incorporating both future trends and foresight methodologies into the planning process. In a rapidly evolving educational landscape, where uncertainties and emerging issues are prevalent, this theme emphasizes the need for strategic plans that are not only responsive to current challenges but also anticipatory of future developments.

The theme suggests a deliberate effort to integrate foresight practices, ensuring that the university's strategic plans are not only relevant in the present but also resilient and adaptable to future changes. By incorporating foresight, the university aims to enhance its capacity to identify and respond to potential opportunities and challenges, thereby positioning itself as a dynamic and forward-looking institution.

Dr. Reginald G. Ugaddan, an expert in public management, human resource management, leadership, and disaster management, brought a wealth of knowledge to the strategic planning workshops. His expertise aligns with the theme, as he likely emphasizes the importance of foresight in organizational development, highlighting the significance of anticipating and traversing potential future scenarios.

The facilitators, Ms. Mica Ella Denice F. Asuncion, Mr. Lui Jhoshua N. Cuadra, Ms. Priscilla Denise G. Pigao, and Mr. Robbronne Amiel K. Villegas, with their high qualifications and backgrounds in public administration, contribute to the professional and academic rigor of the workshops. Their association with the University of the Philippines, particularly with the National College of Public Administration and Governance, ensures that the strategic planning process is guided by individuals with a deep understanding of public administration principles and practices.

The six sessions of the strategic planning workshops were carefully structured to cover essential aspects of foresight and strategic planning. These sessions, ranging from revisiting the institution's vision, mission, and goals to developing action plans and implementation strategies, demonstrate a comprehensive and systematic approach to the planning process.

The theme "Integrating Futures and Foresight" encapsulated the university's commitment to strategic planning that goes beyond the immediate future, embracing a holistic and anticipatory perspective. The involvement of qualified resource speakers and facilitators, coupled with the organized sessions, ensured a professional and rigorous approach to developing the University's strategic plans for 2023-2028.
